My blankets use wool from sheep raised on small farms in the Bay Area. The wool is processed by Yolo Valley Mill, a great local mill that services small farms in Northern California.  This saves on fossil fuels and also supports the local sheep industry.

I keep the design simple to showcase the natural qualities of the wool. Wool felts so beautifully. Some of the blanket are felted onto organic cotton other are quilted onto silk or woven wool. I am fascinated by the edge of the felt and the unique shapes that form so I do not cut the felt but leave the edge natural.
